英文有很多常見單字，我們十分熟悉它們的用法，但其實這些單字也有其他常見的意思，今天一起來學習一下，下次聽到就不會當場愣住！
ball
（名詞）球
通常指任何球狀的物體。
He kicked the ball into the goal.（他將球踢進了球門。）
（名詞）舞會
Will you attend the ball at the castle tonight? （你今晚會參加在城堡舉辦的舞會嗎？）
但要注意的是，ball為舞會用法，在現代英語中並不太常見，特别是在口語中。它更常見於文學作品或者較正式的場合。在口語中，會更傾向於使用party或dance來表示舞會。

意為玩得開心、享受樂趣。
We had a ball at the beach yesterday. （昨天我們在海灘玩得很開心。）
（片語） get the ball rolling
意為開始做某事，啟動某項活動。

Seventeen gave a star performance tonight.（Seventeen今晚的演出超讚！）
minute
（名詞） 分鐘
I'll be back in ten minutes.（我10分鐘後回來。）
（名詞） 會議紀錄
記得這個用法常用複數形式 「minutes」，指會議紀錄。
We forget to jot down meeting minutes? （我們忘了寫會議紀錄嗎？）
